A former Miami-Dade police officer, a former public service aide, and two tow truck drivers were arrested for participating in an illegal bribery and kickback scheme in which tow drivers paid cash bribes to MDPD employees in exchange for being permitted to tow disabled vehicles directly from accident scenes, according to the DOJ Southern District of Florida and FBI Miami. The scheme was uncovered when the FBI Task Force received allegations about the payments in 2013.
