FMCSA Motus Registration System Goes Live May 14; Only the Existing Portal Company Official Can Claim the Account First

FMCSA reminded carriers in an April 28 bulletin to prepare for the May 14 launch of Motus, a new online registration system that replaces the FMCSA Portal and the Unified Registration System for new USDOT numbers, operating authority, and registration changes, according to CDLLife. The agency said only the FMCSA Portal Company Official using the same Login.gov email will be permitted to claim a Motus account on the first attempt, and carriers should confirm portal accounts are active and contact information is current before the rollout.

Operator takeaway

If the wrong person tries to claim your Motus account, your registration changes will get blocked at the new system. Identify your current FMCSA Portal Company Official today and confirm the Login.gov email matches before May 14.
